A note from the founder
I built Hushscript because my wife needed high-quality transcripts without compromising her company’s strict privacy rules. Existing tools failed her requirement: no meeting bots and no invasive tracking of transcript work. Hushscript keeps analytics and advertising trackers out of the app; activity is measured only from content-free, server-confirmed events in our own API. Audio is deleted after transcription, and stored transcripts are encrypted. The public marketing website is separate: it uses analytics and advertising tools to understand traffic and measure campaigns, with consent where required. Built for the person I love, shared because it simply works.

Why Hushscript exists
A recording of a meeting, an interview, a doctor’s call, or a voice memo is some of the most sensitive data you own. Most tools treat it casually: upload the whole file to a server, keep it indefinitely, sometimes train on it. We built the opposite, a transcriber where your recording isn’t ours to keep.

What we won’t do
- No subscription. Pay as you go, or don’t pay at all and use the free tools.
- No watermarks. Your exports are clean: 21 export formats, plus password-protected archives.
- No plan-based daily or monthly allowance; high service-safety and active-job safeguards apply.
- No split-session busywork. Merge related recordings into one ordered transcript before transcription starts.
- Free Insights are optional. One run produces the complete result at no minute cost, including cleanup suggestions you review in Edit.
- We don’t train on your recordings, and we don’t sell your data.
Privacy by architecture
- Your video stays on your device; its audio is extracted in your browser first.
- The audio sent for transcription isn’t kept after the transcript is ready; the speech engine retains no copy.
- Our free tools run 100% in your browser. We pay nothing and store nothing, so there’s no incentive to harvest your files.
- Card-verified signup keeps non-paying abusers off the paid AI, so we can give real free minutes away: a $1 hold validates the card and releases right away. No card? Use any payment method available in your country; your 30 free minutes arrive with your first purchase.
- Your transcripts are encrypted at rest: if our storage were ever leaked, they’d be unreadable ciphertext, not your words.
- Up to 10 hours per file, with no file-size limit, merged recordings, and speaker labels are free.
- EU data residency: recordings from the EU, EEA, Switzerland, and the UK are processed in the EU.
Real exports, no lock-in
Your transcript is yours. Export in 21 formats, from TXT and SRT to editor timelines like FCPXML and EDL, or download everything as a password-protected .husharchive. Delete it when you no longer need it. No proprietary format, no lock-in.

Before you email
- For account questions, write from the email address you use with Hushscript when possible.
- For a transcription issue, include the page URL, the file type, the approximate recording length, and whether the job used speaker labels, translation, medical mode, or another upload option.
- For a privacy or data-processing request, name the country or region that applies. Sub-processors lists the standing legal details, and support can route a specific request.
- Never email card numbers, passwords, private keys, or full recordings. If we need diagnostics, we will ask for the smallest amount of information that lets us investigate.
